Leah Ann Wood

Leah Ann Wood of Boca Raton, FL passed away on July 3, 2022. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and was a graduate of Fort Hamilton HS and then Skidmore College. She worked as a teacher at Hudnuts on 5th Ave in NYC.

Leah married Charles Wood (decd) of Syracuse, NY. They moved to Wheeling, W. VA where she became the Health Director of the Wheeling YWCA, where she also taught swimming. They then moved overseas where they started their family. She taught school in Columbia as well as swimming. She continued to teach swimming as they moved to various other locales around the world.

Leah enjoyed singing and dancing. She and her husband participated in the various church choirs they joined as they moved around. Notably she was part of the Ramapo Valley Chorus that won the 1979 Sweet Adelines International Chorus competition in St Louis, MO.

She is survived by her loving daughter, son and daughter in law and three grand children.

In lieu of flowers a donation to your charity of choice would be appreciated. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
