Vic was born on November 2, 1940, in Rotan, Texas to Victor and Modell Hill. He married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Hill, on May 31, 1962, beginning a partnership that spanned more than six decades.
A proud graduate of Texas Tech University, Vic dedicated over 30 years to teaching, shaping countless young minds along the way. He also served as president of Monterey Optimist Basketball in Lubbock for 30 years, where his passion for mentoring and community left a lasting impact.
Vic found his greatest joy outside—whether on the golf course, casting a line from his back deck, or coaching his sons’ youth baseball and basketball teams. He was known for his steady presence, sense of humor, and love of simple pleasures.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Hill; his sons, Mike Hill and Matt Hill (wife Jill); grandchildren Tiffany Allen (husband Darren), Sarah Blake, Jamie Blake, Adam Blake, and Nathan Hill; and great-granddaughter Kinslee Allen.
Vic will be remembered for a life well-lived, a family well-loved, and a legacy that will carry on in the many lives he touched.
