

Russell “Rusty” Paul White, died at the age of 67 in College Station, TX on April 21, 2026. Rusty White was born on July 3, 1958 in Shreveport, Louisiana. His parents were Wiley Gahagan and Linda Hunter White. Rusty was brother to Wiley Gahagan Jr., Richard, and Randy White, and Sherry Roller. Rusty was blessed with three children, Elizabeth Anderson, Catherine Anderson, and Michael White, and seven grandchildren.
Rusty was very fond of his hometown of Shreveport. He was a graduate of C. E. Byrd High School and later received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. A lifelong learner, Rusty continued to cultivate a passion for music, sound, and audio engineering. After teaching in the public school system for several years, Rusty pursued his dream of working full time in sound and media; first at Broadmoor Baptist Church, and later at Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington, TX. He finished his career at Ford AV where he worked for 15 years as a Division Estimator. A dear coworker and friend of Rusty shared that he was an instrumental part of the success of the company and a hardworking and honorable friend. Of all his accomplishments, Rusty believed his greatest accomplishments and joy were his children.
After his retirement in 2024, he moved to College Station, TX where he was close to his children and grandchildren. He loved attending his grandchildren's various sporting events and birthdays. In his downtime, he spent many hours enjoying his Revox Stereo.
Rusty is survived by his brother Randy White, children Elizabeth Anderson, Catherine Anderson, and Michael White, and seven grandchildren. He is dearly loved by his family, coworkers, and friends, including Ruff Phelps and Deni Stuart who remained faithful and dear to the end of his life. Rusty will be remembered for his passion for music, movies, history, good food, and a properly rolled microphone cord. His children fondly remember many weekend adventures and his great sense of humor. A memorial service will be held at Broadmoor Baptist Church, located at 4110 Youree Dr., Shreveport, LA 71105 on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 10:30 in the morning.
