

Ron was born in Albany, New York and spent most of his life in North Chatham, NY before moving to Venice, FL after retiring. He spent the last the 3 years of his life in Houston, TX. He was the first of seven children born to Lina Lockwood Davis and Howard Davis. He married Virginia Jordan in 1951.
Ron worked on the family farm before going into the Army where he served as a radar operator during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he went to work at the dairy in North Chatham, and then to work for Dorn’s Transportation in Albany, NY as a Teamster before his retirement in 1985.
Ron was an avid sports fan, playing baseball and bowling in his early years, then horseshoes and tennis in his midlife before moving on to bocce and shuffleboard in his later years. When he could no longer ride his bicycle outside, he rode a stationary bike for 30 minutes a day up to his last week on earth. He watched every baseball, football, and basketball game that he could, often flipping back and forth between games.
Ron is survived by his son Michael Jordan Davis and wife Maureen McCardle, Sister Carol Pinkowski and Brother Charles Davis, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Virginia (Ginny) of 66 years, daughter Jacalyn Ann Davis (16), daughter-in-law Camellia Jane Poland Davis (54), step grandson Kelly Williams (45), Father Howard Davis, Mother Lina Lockwood Davis, Sister Jean Altomer, Brothers Martin, Paul and Robert, brother-in-law Theodore Pinkowski and sister-in-law’s Diane, Mary Ann and Marie.
At this time, memorial services have not been arranged, but internment will be at the North Chatham, NY Cemetery in the Spring of 2026.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that you considering honoring Ron with a memorial gift to the charity that has the closest connection to you. Ron generously contributed to many charitable organizations and was a longtime supporter of the Texas MS 150 Bike Ride supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (QR below).
