A wonderful physician greatly missed in the world of medicine. A replacement still has been hard to find. Rest in peace.

I worked at Northshore Medical Hospital in Surgery.  I was an RN and sometimes scrubbed in with Dr. Hixson. I remember when she came to Surgery. She was always very polite and had a kind heart.  We both had a love of music and I remember when she saw Janet Jackson in concert. She was so excited!  And her smile… she was the real deal. She will be sorely missed. RIP Dr Hixson MD

Sending sincere condolences.. Dr.Hixson was a long term OBGYN of mine.. She delivered my first daughter in 2007 and was planned to deliver my 2nd born in August of 2020 until she received this news.. At that time she stressed that she would be stepping down to soak in time with her teenage daughter.. 

I’m not sure what made me google your mom close to 3 years later but I feel like I should let you know I’ve also lost my mom and I know this is a pain like no other.. Stay Strong! Your momma was a strong soul! 

Dr Hixson was my OBGYN and saved my life. May her memory be for a blessing.

I have been her patient for 16 years, even after moving over an hour away.  She delivered both of my boys via C-section as well as multiple surgeries.  Dr. Hixson always has shown such care and understanding, and made you feel like you were her only patient. I had complete trust and faith in her hands, she was my Angel Doctor!  She always talked about her daughter, and family, and where they were vacationing, enjoying every minute. When my first son was born, my husband and I told her she must have put her stamp on his forehead because his very faint birthmark looked exactly like her angel wings logo! I often told her she was my hero, and loved to hear her laugh! On my last visit with her she was still wearing the beautiful brooch I gave her to thank her for always taking such good care of me. 
We just found out today, and Our entire family is heartbroken to hear the devastating news of her passing. Our hearts and prayers go out to her entire family, she was such a beautiful person, professional, and will be so dearly missed.😭💔❤🙏

Dr Hixson was my gynecologist for the past 8 years.  She was always caring, thorough, kind and easy to talk to.   I will miss her and professionalism.  I was stunned and saddened to hear of her passing.  My prayers go out to her family and staff.  May she rest in peace.

Devastated to hear of Meredith’s passing.  We first met in DC in the late 1980s when she was at GW and I was at Georgetown, we became fast friends and had many, many fun filled adventures together.  She was fearless, brilliant, opinionated, hilarious and a loyal friend.  She loved her family dearly and I got to know them, especially her father Arthur.  Meredith also introduced me to her amazing circle of friends.  Through the years we would lean on each other, she would ask me legal advice and I would ask her medical advice and you could always count on an expert, straightforward and honest discussion, but at the heart of it was two friends lending a sympathetic ear.  The last time I saw her was many years ago but the fond memory is imbedded in my heart.  In our last conversation last year, we talked about our families and she asked me to send pictures of my daughters, I told her my youngest wanted to go to medical school and she laughed as only Meredith could.  Meredith was an amazing person and my heart goes out to her family and friends.

Dr. Hixson, was my gynecologist for 18 years. The only gynecologist I’ve ever went to. I just learned today of her passing. She has taken care of me and delivered my three children. 

I remember, telling her one day, she can’t quit her practice or die because if she ever does I don’t know what I’ll do without her. I also remember one day she came in the room and dropped my folder. She said “Brittany, your folder is bigger than my 60 year old patients.” I said, “ we’ve been together for a long time, Meredith.” That was the first time I called her by her actual name. 

She was so sweet and caring and always made me feel comfortable. My heart goes out to her family. I just lost my mom in July, due to breast cancer and also my mothers sister on may 5th. It’s a lot to take in. I’ve always been greatly appreciated of everything she’s helped me with. She will be greatly missed.

I knew Meredith in medical school. She had a great smile and I have fond memories of her. She will be missed.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Hixson for many years! We have laugh and I have cried so many times over the years.. She was always so kind and supporting.. We would talk have about so many things from heath, life, and music! At my visit last year we talked about Faith! She was truly an amazing woman of God!! There are two angles of HOPE and FAITH she wrote to me about. Dr Hixson has truly been a Blessing to me.. She has touch so many and I thank her family for sharing her with us! She will forever be in the hearts of so many! My prayers and thoughts are with all of the family, love ones, friends and patients..

My heart goes out to you Erin and Eric! Meredith was a cousin in law, and she precepted me when I was in school as a nurse practitioner. I loved her and will miss her.  I will always remember her smile and laugh!  

The Best Ever...Dr. Hixson helped me through my battle with cancer. She was very helpful and went beyond to assure I was well mentally! This breaks my heart💔as she lifted myself and others, but was fighting a battle of her own.  This will be hard as I'd became really confidant and protected with her as my doctor. I'm praying 🙏🏽 for her daughter, husband, family, and friends. 

12 years I worked by her side. We shared family stories, inside jokes and comments that always had us laughing. She was an amazing person, doctor and friend. I loved her dearly and she kept me sane in many crazy times. I miss her every day and still go to pick up my phone to text her something I saw or heard that only she would understand 😪  

I miss Dr Hixson so much, she indeed was a tough soldier. I always think and laugh to myself my memories of how we would eyeball each other over our eyeglasses about certain things and bust out laughing.  She would tease me about my spelling saying I made a new word 😏 so I started to use Google. She still commented 😊 and when I told her that I googled it we would bust out laughing 😃  Miss her tremendously 😥💔 may she Rest In Peace continued prayers for her family 🙏
