Janice Jones (Bell), age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in The Woodlands, Texas. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and friend, Janice lived a life defined by faith, service, and unwavering love for her family.
Born on August 5, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, Janice was the daughter of Thomas and Roberta Bell (Dalrymple). She grew up alongside her sisters, Molly Lust (Bell) and JoAnn Clark (Bell), and graduated from North High School in January 1960.
On March 17, 1962, Janice married the love of her life, Larry Jones. Together, they built a remarkable 64‑year marriage filled with adventure, partnership, and deep devotion. They had just celebrated their anniversary days before her passing.
After high school, Janice began her career at the Electric Company in Columbus, Ohio. She stepped away from the workforce in 1963 to raise her two children, returning in 1977 to continue a professional journey marked by dedication and exceptional organizational skills. Over the years, she contributed her talents to a medical practice in Rockford, Illinois; Paymaster Check Writers in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin; and a law firm in Coral Springs, Florida. Everywhere she worked, Janice was known as a valued, reliable, and highly respected team member.
Throughout her life, Janice and Larry lived in several communities across the country, including Columbus, OH; Berkeley Heights, NJ; Rockford, IL; Whitefish Bay, WI; Coral Springs, FL; and Ocala, FL. Each place brought new friendships, memories, and opportunities for Janice to share her warmth and generosity.
In retirement, Janice found a spiritual home at Ocala West Methodist Church, where she and Larry poured their hearts into supporting the youth group. They participated in five mission trips, helped lead fundraising efforts, and Janice joyfully ran the kitchen crew for Wednesday Night Dinners—an act of service that brought her great fulfillment.
Janice was an avid tennis player and cherished her weekly card club with dear friends in Ocala. Above all, she treasured her role as a grandmother and great‑grandmother, pouring endless love and attention into the lives of her two grandchildren and three great‑grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Jones, of The Woodlands, Texas; her son Ken Jones and his wife LeeAnn, of The Woodlands, Texas; her daughter Keri Jones and her wife Kathy Stennes, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; her grandson Jack Jones and his wife Kaitlyn, of The Woodlands, Texas; her granddaughter Lainey Jones, of Houston, Texas; and her beloved great‑grandchildren Owen Jones, Liam Jones, and Parker Jones.
Janice’s legacy is one of kindness, faith, and steadfast love. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
