Delamon Hayes, age 81, of Houston, Texas, went Home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2024, in peaceful slumber. He was born October 10, 1942, in Cameron, Texas. He loved the Lord, his family, and never met a stranger.
Delamon grew up in Houston and joined the United States Navy after high school. On return from the service he started his own business. Later, he worked in the oil field business a good while, as well as the City of Houston, and numerous other jobs that were always a topic of conversation.
Delamon was a born salesman and a creative storyteller. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and was a masterful carpenter. He spent many of his working days alongside his brother, Gaylon. They had a special bond that has never been broken; they are finally together again.
Delamon was preceded in death by his parents Delamon and Eloise; and his brother, Gaylon. He is survived by his wife, Denise; his daughter, Toni and her partner, Troy; and his son, Giovanni and his sweetie, Valerie. He leaves behind his precious grandchildren: Caleb, Madison, Sonia, Sofia and Tyler.
Delamon also loved his brother’s children and their families: Alton and Robin; Paula and Chad; Matthew and Lindsey.
I would like to thank all of those who stayed in touch with Del, lifted him up in prayer, and encouraged him, especially during this past year.
We will celebrate Delamon's life on October 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Garden Oaks Baptist Church at 3206 N. Shepherd Dr., Houston, Texas 77018.
