William Henry Wilson III

Born on April 1, 1957 in Jacksonville Florida, Hoppy lived a life defined by kindness, strength, and an unwavering love for his family. He was the kind of man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or put the needs of those he loved before his own. His quiet strength, generous heart, and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Hoppy found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially spending time with family and friends. Whether he was fishing, sharing stories, offering advice, or simply enjoying time together, he created memories that will be treasured for generations. His love, laughter, and wisdom will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Julia Wilson; his children, Jessica & Billy ( Lesley ); his grandchildren, Alexis, Presley, Aubree, Nolan, Waylon, & Maggie; his siblings, BillieFaye, Hank, Sammie, June,; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Henry Wilson Jr. & Lois Wilson, and his brother Buddy Bessent.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 13,2026 for friends from 10:30 am-11:00 am at Garden View Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am at Garden View Baptist Church, 3139 Armsdale Road, Jacksonville Florida 32218

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing Hoppy’s love and legacy will remain with us always. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
