Walt was a great person.  Throughout my years of knowing Walt, he is one of a very few people I know that I have NEVER heard anyone speak negatively of or have a bad thing to say.  

He was truly one of the good guys.  The world could certainly use more “Walters”. 

I'll always remember Uncle Walter as a family man who loved his family, his wife and chiidren. Also, how he always loved to smile and joke, and how he would lift one eyebrow up and stare at you -  if he didn't believe something you said. :-)

Thank you for letting me work at your All American Battery Company.

I love you, Uncle Walter, and I'll see you in Heaven with Jesus one day.

Uncle Walter was like a father-figure to me in my adolescent life. He accompanied me to my Spelling Bee (at either Hannibal Junior or Senior High), taught me to play chess – as I watched him and Uncle Harry compete with one another on Momma’s kitchen table (at 822 North St), and was just an all-around role model and supporter to me and the rest of our family.

He was a very intelligent, personable, active and compassionate individual who served honorably in the Air Force, his church and community. He always had a wry smile or wink, and was an excellent cook (as many of my aunts and uncles were).  I will never forget the glorious brisket he made when we were invited to his and Linda’s home for a barbecue gathering in Kansas City! 

I agree, that he had a rich and fulfilling life, am thankful for his impact on all of us, and extend my condolences to all of those he cherished.

Love you, Uncle Walter. Thanks for the joy and inspiration. May the Lord bless you and carry you on the wings of his angels.

Uncle Walter-- my Uncle, "My Big Brother," My Hero, My Friend.
His Love and accomplishments are more than words can say.
So many pleasant memories.

While we both were serving in Germany, he in the Air Force, and I in the Army. he made a point to visit me at my Army base. Later, we both flew home on the same flight from Germany for Daddy's funeral. 

He took a beautiful panoramic photo of my wife Georgia, with all of her siblings at our daughter, Masika's wedding reception at the Mark Twain Hotel on his famous "Nikon F" camera. 

So many pleasant memories. More than words can say.




Thank you uncle Walter for accepting me into your family. I will miss your barbecues. I will miss seeing how passionate you were about photography. What I will truly miss was the encouragement and confidence I received to reach for  my desires and dreams. LOVE YOU UNCLE  AND GOD BLESS....


Uncle Walter was a very special person. He was highly intelligent, accomplished and most important, a good and decent man. I love all of my aunts and uncles, but Uncle Walter was one of the two uncles I knew best, along with Uncle George, and who most influenced me as I grew from childhood to manhood.  We will all miss his kindness and cheerful spirit. I know how hard this must be for Linda and the family and trust they can gain some comfort in knowing that he lived a long and full life, and knew the joy of love of family and friends.

Uncle  Walter was a Great Uncle. He was Kind and Always had a smile on his Face. He Loved to take Pictures.  He will Always be in Our Hearts.
