

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Steven James LeStrange of Jacksonville, Florida on September 30, 2024, at the age of 70. He fought a long and hard battle with cancer, all while still thanking God for his many blessings.
Steve was born in Dowagiac, Michigan on May 26, 1954, to Raymond John LeStrange and Shirley Catherine (Curtis) LeStrange. Steve was known for his love of country, dedication and love to his family and friends.
Steve served in the United States Navy for 20 years as an Aviation Boatswains’ Mate on the USS FDR, USS Forrestal, USS Lexington and stationed at NAS Pensacola, NAS Mayport, NAS Cecil Field, and NAS Pax River. Steve was very proud to be a veteran and shared this honor with his shipmates. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, telling stories about his time in the Navy, reading, fishing, but above all spending time with his granddaughters who were his true joy.
He is predeceased by his father, Raymond John LeStrange and his mother, Shirley Catherine (Curtis) LeStrange.
Survived by his loving wife of 48 years Catherine Lynn (Bowman) LeStrange, sons Jeremy Michael Diaz (Nicole), Jeffery Steven LeStrange (Maria), his granddaughters Alesia and Jenna LeStrange, brother Peter LeStrange (Tonya), sisters’ Susan Gall and Mary Crocker, his nieces Stacy O’Day (Mary) and Mackenzie LeStrange (Peter), and his great nephew KeJuan Watts and great niece KaLayjha Heard (Stacy).

Funeral services are under the direction of National Cremation & Burial Society. A visitation will be from 11am-1pm on October 16, 2024 at Hardage Giddens Chapel Hills, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road North Jacksonville, Fl 32225. Steve’s final resting place will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery 4083 Lannie Road Jacksonville, Fl 32218 on October 16, 2024, at 2:30pm.
