

In her early years Carol worked as a switchboard phone operator. She married Robert E. Ross in 1954. Living in LaGrange, Illinois, Carol dedicated herself to the rearing of her 6 children. In 1970, they relocated from Illinois to Raleigh, North Carolina. Carol worked for JCPenney as a Customer Service Supervisor for 15 years. In 1989, they moved to Palm Coast, Florida. Carol spent her retirement playing golf and enjoying her family. Carol’s golf accomplishments included 2 holes in one. She served as President of the Woman’s Golf Association at Pine Lakes, Palm Harbor, Matanzas Woods and Cypress Knoll golf courses. She enjoyed working professional golf tournaments where she chaired the transportation for the players and celebrity guests. As a charter member of Shepherd of the Coast church in Palm Coast, Carol served many years as the financial secretary and was very active in the church.
Carol is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert E. Ross, 6 children Rhonda Turner (Roy), Dale Ross (Joanne), Donna McNeill (Frank), Curt Ross (Laurie), Diane Ross Dean, and Dawn Cardenas (Greg). Her 9 grandchildren Todd Turner, Tabitha Turner, Hunter Ross Gottwald (James), Logan Ross, Brooks Ross, Brennan Ross, Heather Warriner (Raymond), Cameron Dean, Franklin (Trip) McNeill III, Matthew Cardenas and Marissa Cardenas. One great grandchild Baker Warriner.
A memorial service is planned at Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 6 at 11 a.m. and a visitation will be before the service at 10:00 AM.
