Mike was born in Alton, Illinois, but moved to Tampa with his parents at the age of 8. He was a member of the first graduating class of Robinson High School, where he made several lifelong friends. Later Mike and his wife, Diane, moved to the Weeki Wachee river where he could enjoy his love of the water.
Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Eleanor Pointer, he is survived by his wife, Diane, daughters Michelle Radford and Amy Broughton, son-in-law Scott Radford, grandson Tyler Radford (Shannon), granddaughter Kayleigh Stanley (Nick), great granddaughter Ryleigh, as well as a multitude of friends and family.
Mike never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed.
Michael's Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, starting at 1 p.m. It will be at the Original Carrollwood Recreation Center at 3515 McFarland Road, Tampa, FL 33618. Please bring your memories and appetites. We will have plenty of finger foods and drinks and look forward to sharing our stories and remembering Mike.
