Richard Joseph Amoriello, 68, of Port Richey, Florida, passed away on April 26, 2025. Born in Queens, New York, Richard lived a life marked by hard work, deep passions, and a fierce love for his family.
In his early years Richard worked at Fairchild Republic building Air Force planes, an experience he was proud of and often reminisced about. He later began a long and dedicated career with the city of New York, starting as a janitor and climbing the ranks of the unions to become a licensed stationary engineer. Richard was the kind of man who figured things out for himself and although he often said he “never read books,” he taught himself all the mechanical knowledge he needed to pass complex licensing exams, a true testament to his intelligence and drive. He loved to work with his hands and stay busy as a bowling alley mechanic on the side, using his skills to keep the lanes running smoothly—fitting for someone who always knew how to keep the good times rolling.
He was a man of many passions: motorcycles, action movies, bowling and music. Whether he was playing bass, or performing an epic air-guitar solo, Richard was in his element when music was playing and good times were flowing. He cherished live shows, long rides on his bike, and any chance to be surrounded by the people he loved.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Deirdre; his six children, Erika, Lisa, Jacklyn, Gina, Stacie and Kristin; his sister, Dawn, and her two children Joey and Stephanie; his grandchildren, Talia, Joshua, and Jude; and his great-grandson, Adonis. His spirit, humor, and strength will live on in each of them.
He will be remembered not only for the life he built but for the joy he brought to those around him—and for the soundtrack of rock ‘n’ roll he leaves behind in the hearts of his loved ones.
