Heidi Margo Hanna (née Steward), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, in Bayonet Point, Florida. She was born on August 13, 1944, in Flint, Michigan, to Lloyd Monroe Steward and Ruth Violet Steward (née Drewyer), and graduated from Flint Central High School in 1962.
Heidi was married to Michael Joseph Hanna on September 7, 1963. Together they raised their two children in Flint, and their family remained the center of her life. After retiring, they moved to Bayonet Point, where she continued to make friends and create a home she loved.
Those who knew Heidi will remember her as feisty, spirited, and fiercely independent. She always seemed to have a witty response or a joke ready, and beneath that spirited exterior was a woman who loved her family fiercely and devoted herself to the people she cared about. Heidi was endlessly creative and happiest when she was making something with her hands. She was a talented crafter who enjoyed drawing, painting, baking, and cake decorating. She also had a remarkable talent for sewing, selling beautiful lingerie and later clothes for American Girl dolls at her Treasure Trove storefront. While in Michigan, Heidi worked as a teller at Sports Creek Raceway and handicapped horses for the Flint Journal. She especially loved her horse, Rough Justice, or “RJ” for short.
She is survived by her children, Patrick Hanna and Stephanie Rinoldo (Mike). She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Michael Rinoldo, Joey Rinoldo, Alex Rinoldo, Tommy Rinoldo, Lizzy Hanna (Manas Mishra) and Hayden Hanna. She also leaves behind her brother, Lynn Steward, and many dear friends, including Jimmy, Dell, and her beloved Pebble Beach crew and card group.
Heidi was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Michael Hanna; her siblings Joan Barbara Keane (née Steward) and Samuel Sidney Steward; and her parents, Lloyd Steward and Ruth Willey.
Heidi will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her creativity, humor, and fierce love will be treasured by those blessed to have known her.
The will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
