Mr. C  welcomed me and so many other young kids from the neighborhood into his home. His door was always open. There was always food on the table and a pot cooking on the stove. The sauce was his favorite! (Mine too). He always gave good advice and joked about his own missteps. I remember many sleepovers and movie nights. Pool parties and family gatherings where he made us all feel welcome. He was a good man and a proud father and grandfather. I never knew what a Bepa was until I met his granddaughter Nichole. I became neighbors and lifelong friends with his daughter Michelle and his son Anthony. They would become some of my strongest friendships to this day and I would like to thank him for that. You did good Tony! He will truly be missed. Rest in paradise Mr. C.  

Tony was always there for our family and was always there to make us laugh. We have many great memories with him. I pray for peace and comfort for the family at this painful time. From the Quercia and Travis family we love you.

I remember when he  gave me the traditional don’t drink and drive; and don’t let your friends drink and drive speech. As everyone knows, that speech always ends with call me, no matter where you are or what time it is and there will be no questions asked.
Well about three days later. We all headed down to Long Beach to drink beer and goof off at the beach. At about three am we realized not only was our driver too drunk but the walk back is hard enough for a sober person - we would have never made it around that winding road without being hit in our conditions. 
Sooooo I called Dad. He came and we piled about 16 drunk teenagers into our station wagon and boy were we rowdy! 
He laughed at us for months after that one!  

A Tribute to My Dad

I remember oh so well, back when I was five - you gave me the coolest birthday party than any other girl alive! 

We drank from hollowed pineapples with funky bendy straws, we had relay races and water fights with funky rules and laws. 

The cake it sparkled, and was cannoli filled - with a carousel on top. I remember saying to all my friends that I had the greatest Pop! 

I remember one other night, when I was about sixteen, I angrily left the house because of a friend that suddenly turned mean.

I went to the graveyard to cool down with the crew and suddenly there were flashing lights - everyone tried to run- to only find that it was you!

You had come to find me, because you fixed the deal back at the house and “Donna Fiorentino has her on the path cowering like a mouse!”

It was also around this time , that I had a boyfriend you thought was rude. You didn’t like his behavior, nor his attitude. 

One evening while you were teaching him how to do an oil change, he got really rude with me when he thought you were out of range!

Well, never again did ANYONE that was present, think it was wise to mess with you, You hopped the fence to get in his face, and you still had your cane with you!

You did the same at the Long Beach Marina, when that man had gotten in Mom’s face, Neither her nor Lynn, expected you to run at us as if you were in race! 

That man learned a lesson and so did we, we learned that you would protect us all, that you swore this before the lord on bended knee! 

As the years moved along and everyone had children of their own, you were the greatest Bepa than most kids have ever known! 

In fact, for Nic whose father wasn’t present, you became that figure in her life - which was why she asked you to give her away, when she was to become someone’s wife.

Hence, I want to thank you,  for being the super hero of my heart!  And from deep within my soul, I know it was only your body that did depart.

I know you are now  watching over us
