Gilberta Lynn Young

Berta was the family’s strongest supporter. She gave everything she had for her boys, Nicholas (39), and Irish Twins Andrew (49), and Dan (49), in a home filled with laughter and love. She was a devout brokers’ assistant and took immense pride in working for Merrill Lynch (pre- BofA).

She is survived by her boys, step-daughter Rebecca Marin, and 7 grandchildren, Tabatha (28), Michelle (27), Atreyu (20), Jackson (10), Vincent (8), Isabella (6), and Vanessa (1).

Berta was known for her hearty laugh, her kind heart, always speaking her mind and being honest. She most loved spending time with friends and family and was an avid logophile, enjoying crosswords, scrabble or telling us to look up words in the dictionary (pre-home computers). She was the heart and soul of the family and her absence will always be felt.

There will be a gathering January 10th in Orange, CA for a memorial honoring her in a casual environment, to laugh and raise a glass to our time with her.
