September 9, 1937 – December 24, 2024
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Doris Ann Kindred, formerly Doris Ann Wetmore, who passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 87.
Born in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, on September 9, 1937, Ann spent much of her childhood in Mansfield, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her older sister, Susan, and her younger brother, Donald.
Ann married James Wallace Kindred, and in 1968, they welcomed their son, James Scott Kindred. The family moved to Monterey, California, in 1970, and later to Salinas, California, where Ann worked in various office and accounting roles, including positions at Mission Linen Supply, a large animal veterinary practice, and TransFresh. After many years in Salinas, she retired and relocated to Wilsonville, Oregon, Hollister, California, and eventually Las Vegas, Nevada, where she lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Vianette Kindred, in her final years.
Ann was a devoted mother and grandmother, with a kind heart and a deep love for animals. She was an avid cat lover, and also cherished the company of dogs and birds throughout her life. Her love for animals and her caring spirit touched everyone who knew her.
In honor of Ann’s life and her passion for helping animals, the family asks that, in lieu of a memorial service, gifts be made in her name to the Pet Rescue Project in Las Vegas, Nevada. https://www.vegaspetrescueproject.com/
Ann will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. We praise God for her life.
