

William “Bill” Carton passed away peacefully with family at his side at Tru Hospice Care of Longmont United Hospital, on Sunday evening October 22nd at the age of 83. He was born December 9, 1939 in Longmont Co. to Cyriel and Marian Carton. In 1958 Bill married Wilma Stotts; together they raised 4 children. In 2007 Bill married Betty Taylor. Bill and Betty were married for 6 years. Bill had a varied career including operating heavy equipment, building road signs and billboards, and working as a security guard.
Bill loved fishing, riding motorcycles, square dancing, playing cards, baking pies, watching the Denver Broncos and adored his 2 dogs. During his time living at The Bridge of Longmont, Bill spent most of his days pursuing a new passion for art, earning the nickname Rembrandt from resident friends and staff. He was also quite the cornhole and bingo champion, filling his room with stuffed animals and other colorful prizes.
Bill is survived by his sister Betty Davis, his 4 children Michael Carton, Nancy Stone, John Carton and Cheryl Gass, his 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both parents, five brothers, and one sister.
A celebration of life and reception will take place at St Francis of Assisi Church of Longmont on Saturday December 9, 2023 at 10:00 A.M.
