

Larry Ray Edwards, passed away peacefully on June 1st, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on May 27, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri, Larry recently celebrated his 87th birthday with his family and close friends. Larry is survived by his younger brother Mark Edwards in Atlanta, Georgia; his daughter Julie Rudnick (Lakewood, CO); son Brent Edwards (Arvada, CO); his loving grandchildren Courtney and Raylon, Lauren and Braden, and preceded in death by his grandson Anthony. After meeting on a blind date, he married the love of his life Martha Jane Edwards in 1961, who passed away in 1992. In 1995 he married Mary Lou Ginder, who preceded him in death, and enjoyed his later years with the friendship and love of his partner Jan Ramsthaler.
Larry enjoyed a very long and distinguished career in the interior construction industry after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Civil Engineering from Kansas State and a Master of Engineering from Kansas University. Larry began his career as an office engineer at U.S. Gypsum in Davenport, Iowa in December 1959. He went on to form Lindberg Acoustics in St Louis in 1964 and then joined Emerson Electric in 1973, and Johns Mansville in 1976 when he relocated to Littleton, Colorado with his family. In 1982, Larry formed Larry Edwards Associates, Inc., and later founded Western Interior Supply in Denver, Colorado. Both companies were successful in marketing and distributing acoustical supplies to commercial construction projects nationwide. In 2003, Larry received the distinguished De Gelleke Award from the Ceilings and Interior Systems Construction Association (CISCA).
Larry dedicated much of his personal time, business expertise, and service to numerous organizations that he was honored to be a part of throughout his lifetime. Larry was an Eagle Scout and Honorably Discharged member of the U.S. Air Force. He was a proud member and past President of Beta Sigma Psi Fraternity serving in several capacities throughout his lifetime, and an active board member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver. For over four decades, Larry faithfully served his church community at Saint Philip Lutheran Church in Littleton, Colorado. He was a beloved and respected member of the congregation since 1977.
Larry had a deep love of geology and history, sharing his extensive knowledge and photographic memory through his wonderful stories. He enjoyed playing golf, sailing his boat in Colorado lakes, traveling, and spending time with his many friends and family. Larry will be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, humor, and selfless dedication to his community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Larry Ray Edwards will be commemorated at a Memorial Service at 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Saint Philip Lutheran Church, 7531 South Kendall Boulevard, Littleton, CO 80128. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver or the Saint Philip Lutheran Church of Littleton, Colorado in honor of Larry Edwards.
