Eugenia “Kaye” Harris, 77, of Berthoud passed away on October 26th, 2021 in Berthoud, CO. Kaye was born on February 19, 1944, in Richmond, Virginia to Clina and Carlton Short. On July 28, 1971, Kaye married David “Wayne” Harris in Goodland, Kansas.
Kaye and Wayne moved to Colorado in 1971, settling in Bennett before moving to Lafayette, then later finally settling in Berthoud in 1982. Kaye’s passion was raising and training Australian Shepherds. As a Herding Judge for the AKC, ASCA and IESR, Kaye and her husband Wayne traveled all over the U.S. and as far as Germany. She leaves behind a legacy of hall of fame Aussies.
Kaye is survived by her children, son, Brian (Lisa) Harris of Johnstown; daughter, Jeanette Kellogg of Platteville and grandchildren Breauna Gildea of Brighton and Joey Kellogg of Platteville; great grandchildren Reagyn and Rylan Gildea of Brighton.
The family asks that people make donations to Hospice of Weld County in lieu of sending flowers.
