Elisa Blackwood

Elisa Garcia Blackwood of Lakewood, Co was called home by our Lord Jesus Christ on Feb 16th, 2022 at the age of 79. She was blessed to be surrounded by her some of her family at home. She was born in Durango, Co March 27th, 1942 to Manuel Garcia & Vicenta Ulibarri Garcia.

She graduated from South High School in Pueblo, Co. Then received her certificate of graduation from the Co State Hospital for Psychiatric Technician. She married Jose M Blackwood II & had 4 children.

Elisa was a very loving, giving person who cherished her family dearly. Oh, how she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Teaching them, taking them places & simply just watching them grow. How proud she was! She was a devout catholic & guided by her faith throughout her life. She knew God would get her through anything & always be there for her, which he was. She appreciated all of his beauties; clouds, rainbows, birds, trees, flowers, mountains etc.... So needless to say she enjoyed traveling & road trips to take this all in. Crafting was one of her many hobbies & she loved them all, trust me. Usually having several going on at 1 time, she was so talented. She was a wonderful cook as well, always wanting to feed everyone, her door was always open. We all know she was a collector of all sorts, it was the small things that put a smile on her face & warmed her heart!

Elisa was survived by her husband Jose M Blackwood II, her children; Christopher, Melissa & Kathleen Blackwood, 15 grandchildren & 15 great-grandchildren, brothers & sisters; Juanita (Ray) Lucero, Teresa Garcia, William (Connie) Garcia, Nancy (Angelo) Romero, James Gallardo, Donna (Joe) Gama, Karen Garcia, Aunt Tita, Aunt Dora, Uncle Johnny, many nieces, nephews & cousins as well as the numerous people she welcomed & thought of as her children.

Proceeded in death by her grandparents, parents Manuel & Vicenta Garcia; her son, Jose Blackwood Jr, Brothers; David Garcia, Carlos Gallardo, Manuel Garcia, John Garcia, Sisters; Suzanne Gallardo, Caroline Gallardo & Phyllis Garcia.
