It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Clara Faye Koenig, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, on October 11, 2024, in Longmont, Colorado. Born on January 25, 1944, in Ft. Worth, Texas, Clara lived a life full of love, strength, and resilience, leaving behind an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Clara was the cherished daughter of Ruth Bussell, who instilled in her a sense of warmth and hospitality that she carried throughout her life. Clara's journey through life was marked by her unyielding spirit and caring nature. Despite facing numerous challenges, she remained resolute, always moving forward and never letting adversity define her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Elaine; her dear sister, Joyce; her father, Mirrell; her mother, Ruth; and her cherished grandson, Darren. Their memories lived on in Clara's heart, and she now joins them in eternal peace.
Clara is survived by her loving children Otis (Jennifer), Ira (Beth), Alma (Frank), James (Colleen) and Leslie. Her legacy continues through her 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory close. Clara is also survived by her 5 sisters, 2 brothers, their wives and husbands and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her kindness and strength.
Throughout her life, Clara was dedicated to her work, spending many years in the school nutrition system and retail industries. Her colleagues and customers adored her, and she was admired for her work ethic and genuinely caring nature. Clara retired seven years ago, cherishing her time spent with family and friends.
Clara had a passion for reading and cooking, always eager to share her delicious meals with anyone in need. Her home was a warm haven for those hungry both for food and companionship. She also found joy in fishing trips with her family, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
Clara's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the many people who provided care and comfort during her final days. Your kindness and support meant the world to Clara and her family, and they are eternally grateful for the love shown to her.
In her honor, there will be a private memorial service at a later date allowing her family and close friends to celebrate her life in an intimate setting. As we remember Clara, let us hold her spirit close in our hearts, inspired by her strength, love, and generous heart that touched us all.
"We want to thank the many people that helped make her last days as comfortable as they could be as well as the family that reached out to her. She loved talking to everyone."
Clara Faye Koenig may have departed from this world, but her legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she left behind.
