Terry loved many things —listening to music (especially Elvis Presley and Jon Bon Jovi), reading crime novels, watching episodes of Friends until the dialogue was committed to memory, and traveling (especially to her beloved Hawaii and Europe). She loved conversation, too, always meeting new people and talking as if they were long lost friends. She especially enjoyed talking all about her 10 grandchildren and sharing old stories with family and friends. Her laugh was unmistakable and infectious.

After living in New York for more than 60 years, she relocated to Largo, FL in 2009 to get away from the cold and snow of New York (although it turns out she might have hated the heat and humidity even more-lol). You could often find her having coffee with friends, visiting the Largo library, enjoying breakfast out, assisting with her home association, or simply helping friends get from one place to another.

More than anything, however, Terry loved her children and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Beatty, who passed suddenly in 1986. She exhibited exceptional courage and determination to raise her three young children alone, ensuring they had excellent educations and unending support. Terry is survived by her son Michael, daughter-in-law Chrissy, and their children Nicole, Alyssa, and Sean; her daughter Stephanie, son-in-law Tom, and their children Jack, Ella, Charlie, and Griffin; and her son Steven, daughter-in-law Roni, and their children Carter, Mason, and Olivia. Each of them carries a piece of her humor, her warmth, and her fierce devotion. She is also survived by her brother Frank and sister Ann.

Terry’s family invites you to celebrate her life with family and friends, old stories and laughter, and perhaps a rerun or two of Friends—because Terry would have wanted it that way. Her family is planning to celebrate her life privately.
