Shawn D. Johnson

Shawn D. Johnson, 62, beloved husband of the late Peggy J. Corson went home to be with the Lord on September 18th, 2026. He leaves his mother Serena M. Johnson of Largo FL, sister Jodi L Maxwell and husband Ken of Troy, NY, sister Cindy A. Peters and husband Charles of Franklin, MA, as well as a nephew and Godson, Kyran Peters, and nieces, Cassidy Peters and Mackenzie Peters, as well as many extended family members.

Shawn is the son of the late Donald C. Johnson and Serena M. (Haddad) Johnson. He was born in Pittsfield, MA. and raised in Latham, NY where he attended Shaker High School. His senior year was spent in Bennington, VT with his late grandparents, Alfred and Mary Lillian Haddad, where he graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School. He proudly served 4 years in the US Air Force as a Blue Beret, Military Police.

Shawn spent many years living in Florida until he reconnected with Peggy who was the love of his life and he moved to Seattle, WA to be with her. They lived there for over 10 years and worked in Child Care Centers together where Shawn was a Chef and loved inter-acting with the children. They both retired and moved back to Largo and bought a home in the same Retirement Community as Mom. On 5/26/2024 Peggy went home to be with the Lord. This past year his cousin Keith Holmes resided with him.

Shawn was very creative – as an artist he painted murals and pictures. He also crafted many custom pieces of jewelry. Over the years he had many roles and interests, Restaurant Owner, Caretaker, Veterinarian Tech, Pet Store Manager, Bowling Alley Supply Manager, Trained as a HealthCare Aide and Phlebotomist, etc. Most recently he was an Assistant Pastor for Paradise Island Church In The Park and gave his first sermon on August 30th, 2026.

Shawn was a great joy to those around him, and he is dearly loved by his entire family as well as his Church family. He will be greatly missed by all.
