Ruth Marie Rice

Ruth M. Rice went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2022 at the age of 88. Ruth was born in Illinois on May 6, 1934. As a young girl she moved with her family to Michigan where she grew up and attended Kalamazoo High School, graduating in 1952. During her years in school she met her future husband, Marvin W. Rice, at church and later married in 1953. The following year they were overjoyed to be blessed with a daughter. Marvin and Ruth then moved their family to Goshen, Indiana in 1955, residing there until they became residents of Florida in 1967.

Ruth began a 30 year career with the Bilmar Beach Resort, retiring as the Executive Housekeeper. She was loved and respected by all those who worked with her and for her.

Ruth enjoyed sewing, baking, playing the piano and organ, singing hymns and her family, but above all else, she loved the Lord and served Him well. Ruth shared her love with everyone she met. Those who knew her were touched by her kind and giving heart. There was never a person that Ruth was not willing to help or lend a caring hand. She put others first in all she did.

Her husband, Marvin W. Rice, preceded her in meeting the Lord in 2014.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Sandra Adkins and husband David, granddaughter Christine Gaul and husband Trevor, grandson Paul Adkins and great grandchildren Rylan and Kestin Gaul.
