Surprenant Jr., Robert T. “Bob” age 61, of St Petersburg. His address has been permanently changed to his heavenly home on April 9, 2021 due to being tragically killed by an automobile while walking in a crosswalk in downtown St Petersburg and who’s loving and devoted wife Darlene (Zeller) remains hanging onto life as another result.
Along with Darlene, he is survived by three daughters, Jennifer Holmes, Therese (Jeremy) Berry, and Samantha (Jeff) Cron. Also his mother Barbara, two brothers Steven M. (Cheryl), Gregory M. (Debra), and his sister Lori Miner (Marty), ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Bob gave his wife and best friend twenty six years of a devoted, loving and caring heart. He proved this everyday by always putting his family first as a husband and father guiding them to the Lord and reflecting the “sacrificial love of Christ.” He truly succeeded in this as both sides of the family are working in beautiful peaceful harmony while making many difficult decisions.
He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, attended Word of Life Institute of Schroon Lake, NY, graduated from D.L. Moody Institute of Chicago, IL with a degree in Divinity. Thereafter he worked for Windmoor for 22 years as a mental health tech where he extended his love, grace, wonderful sense of humor, and special expertise to the patients as well as the staff.
As a family our hearts are broken at this terrible loss of his life, but are solidly at peace in knowing he is with his dad who probably said “So Bob, you’re finally finished playing the game,” which was a follow up to his Dad saying many times to the children when difficulties occurred “don’t worry, you’ll get your chance to play the game.”
Like his Dad, when he arrived in heaven we believe all joy broke out and the Lord said “Good job, Bob.”
