

Robert Lynn (Bobby Joe) Barry, age 83, of White House, TN and Largo, FL passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025 in Largo, FL.
Robert was born in Dekalb County, TN on September 22, 1941 to John Howard Barry and Ruby Lee Wright. He attended Cumberland High School and worked as a mechanic in several Nashville facilities in his lifetime, the last being Oscar Mayer as a maintenance mechanic for 20 years. He also had a construction company for a few years, Bobby Joe’s Home Improvements while living in the Union Hill area.
Robert loved his family and wanted to take care of them throughout his lifetime and enjoy his time with them. He loved to fish on Old Hickory Lake with family and friends. Bobby Joe also loved playing golf with the Bandits in Florida at his home in the Palm Hills community where he loved winning the game but also loved being “best dressed” on the course.
He is survived by his two daughters: Genny (Danny) Dixon and Donna (Lee) Eubanks. Grandchildren: Kelly (Wesley) Jones; Brittany (Randy) Vaught; Brandon Vick; Rob (Taylor) Dorris; Kim (Brandon) Harms; Tyler Dixon. Great-grandchildren: Riley, Lella & Liam Vaught; Tuck, Charlie & Sunny Dorris; Jack & Rory Harms. Siblings: Brenda Cartwright, Dorris Branch, Joyce Lanier, Sammy Barry. He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Ruby Barry; Siblings: Billy Barry, Sonny Barry, Benny Barry, Charles Barry, Wayne Barry, Dot Appleby, Sadie Mann.
Service to be held on Monday, February 3rd at 2:30pm at Cherry Mound Baptist Church in White House, TN, with Danny Dixon officiating. Visitation prior to service from 1:00 to 2:30.
In lieu of flowers to service, Robert’s daughters request that flowers or gifts be sent to your local senior center or nursing home in his name. Our love and prayers go out to all families living with dementia.
