Born on April 14, 1953, in Bulloch County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Harold Troy Sapp and Lula Sapp (nee McNeely).
A vibrant blend of artistic talent and practical genius, Rebecca possessed a sharp, engineering mind—she could figure out how to put anything together with ease. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Georgia, laying the foundation for a successful career in graphic design. After college, Rebecca moved to Atlanta, where a mutual friend introduced her partner, Carolyn. Five years ago, they made the move from Atlanta to Largo, Florida, to be closer to family.
Rebecca lived life with a deep curiosity and appreciation for the world around her. She was an avid golfer, a skilled photographer, an arborist, and a voracious reader.
Above all, Rebecca cherished her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lula Sapp, and her sister, Marsha Hainley.
She leaves behind her devoted partner of 30 years, Carolyn Ann Smith; her sister, Susan Hagin; her brothers, Steve Sapp and Neal Sapp; and a large, loving network of extended family, and beloved nieces and nephews.
