Patricia Ellen Hand

Passed away on March 4, 2024 and is now at peace. Patty was a lifelong Catholic and proud New Yorker. She lived her faith daily with great compassion for all people. She was regarded by her family as the Matriarch due to her incredible wisdom, guidance and selflessness. She was truly “the rock” during life’s challenges for both family and friends.

She was passionate about her Irish heritage, politics and sports, particularly the NY Giants and the Yankees. She adored nature at its best, whether it be baby eaglets hatching or hummingbirds feeding. She was a devoted sister, aunt and honorary Mom and Grandma for her cherished nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Margaret Hand, brother Michael Hand, and lifelong partner Lee Wilding. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Mylott and husband Robert, her sister Mary Hamzik and sister in law Jean Hand.

She is also survived by her nephews and nieces: Samuel Cosmello and his wife Julie and their children Sophia, Evelyn and Eleanor, Brian Cosmello and wife Crystal and their children Bennett, William and Charlotte, Katherine Cosmello and her son Brian Clark, John Cosmello and wife Alissa and their children Jack and Johnny, Christopher Hand and wife Lucy, Courtney Hand, Beth Zimmerman and husband Richard and Jack Mylott.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the National Audubon Society, the American Diabetes Association, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the National Autism Association.

A Catholic funeral Mass will be held on March 27, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at St Jerome Church, 10895 Hamlin Blvd, Largo, FL 33774. A Rosary will be said 15 minutes prior to the Mass. For those who are unable to attend in person, the Mass will be live streamed at https://www.stjeromeonline.org.
