Nelson Earl Kowalczyk

Nelson E. Kowalczyk of Palm Harbor, FL died September 12, 2021 at the age of 73. He was born in Detroit, Michigan. He had a passion for serving the Lord praying for opportunities and recognizing them when he saw them. Once he stopped and gave his leather jacket to a youth who just got paroled from prison and had nothing to keep him warm on his trip home. He was musically talented singing, and guitar & harmonica playing at the Salvation Saloon Church from the day its doors opened. He loved his dog of 13 years and often spoke of what it would be like to take him for rides on his Harley. Nelson also known as “Buzz” said the last 17 years of his life were his best. We were married on Valentine’s Day in 2004. We very much enjoyed traveling together. We had a goal of seeing 50 states in 10 years until Covid hit. We saw 25 of 50 states, including California, Hawaii, & Alaska, and other countries like Mexico, Ireland, England, Spain, and parts of France.

Nelson is survived by (me) his wife Colleen Kowalczyk FL.

His daughter Renee Potter and her 3 children Anthony, Kristin, and Nicholas.

His son Nelson Kowalczyk, wife Lynette, their children Farah (great grandson Derrick and great granddaughter Arius) and Jay (great grandson Jayce) living in MI., Lynetta (great granddaughter Zayna) living in AZ.

His son Robert Kowalczyk, wife Margaret, their children Rena (great grandson Joseph), Jessica and Salena living in MI.

Step sons: Jonathan and Dustin Pinkerton living in FL and Russ Pinkerton living in AZ.

Services will be held at the Crossroads Baptist Church 2276 Curlew Road Palm Harbor, FL. October 2, 2021 at 10:30 am. Please share a photo or a memory via a text message to 727 644 -0513. Contributions may be made to the Salvation Saloon 1423 Ohio Ave Palm Harbor, Fl 34683.
