Mindy Rochelle Scanlan died on October 20th, 2025 in Tampa, Fl, surrounded by family and friends. Mindy was born in Northeast Philadelphia in 1959 to Glenda and Martin Cohen. She grew up the middle child of 3 girls. In her teens and early 20’s, Mindy pursued modeling but later put that aside to become a mother. She married her husband Jerry in 1982 and had 2 children, a daughter in 1984 and a son in 1988. In 1997, Mindy and her family moved to Tampa, Fl. At age 50, Mindy took a scary new leap in life and attended nursing school to pursue her passion of helping people. Mindy quickly grew fond of working with hospice, taking care of people in their time of need. She made lasting impressions on her co-workers and patients.
Mindy is survived by her children, Jillian and Adam, grandchildren, Cayden and Colton, as well as her sisters, Ferne and Andrea, and niece Brenda.
A private service will be held on December 4th at her home.
A special thanks to all of the friends and family who came to see Mindy in her last days. Those happy moments Mindy had at the end will live on with her children.
