

Michele Garner, 74, of Treasure Island, Florida passed away surrounded by family at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. As a Florida native, she grew up on the beautiful beaches of Pass-A-Grille, attending Lakewood High School and later, Florida State University. She spent her professional life in design and signage, establishing Architectural Resources where she fulfilled her entrepreneurial and creative spirit for businesses across the state. She was involved in all aspects of community life, leading the PTA at her daughters’ school, volunteering for those in need, and holding leadership positions in the Women's Club of Pass-A-Grille.
Those who got to know Michele know that she lived passionately, taking advantage of every day and filling it with joy. She was an advocate for the environment and women's rights, and was a fine arts enthusiast. People were attracted to her fun loving, spontaneous personality. Her friendships ran deep and were plentiful, as she touched many lives and held a special place in everyone's hearts.
Married to her husband, Jim, for 44 years, they met in high school and married in 1981 on St. Pete Beach. Together they had two daughters, Meika and Jaime. She was adored by her grandsons and loved dearly by her husband and daughters. Her most treasured memories included spending time with family, travelling, and enjoying time at the beach.
Daughter to Pierre (“Peppy”) and Evelyn Emmons, she is survived by her husband, James (Jim) Garner; daughters, Meika Berlan and Jaime Wyatt; son-in-laws, Brian Berlan and Neil Wyatt; and grandsons, Bennett Berlan (7), Brooks Berlan (4), Sebastian Wyatt (4), and Emory Wyatt (6 months).
