Mary Etta Stearns

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles F. Stearns Jr; her daughter, Michelle Lynn Stearns; her brother, Rolland G. Voris; and her parents, Eugene Voris and Elma Elberta Meyers Voris.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, daughter, Kelly A. Andrews (Harrison); son, Steven K Stearns (Amber); step-daughter, Marcia Stearns; grandchildren: Abigail M. Andrews, Benjamin H. Andrews, Stella R. Stearns; step-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Lane, Karis, Avery; half-sister, Rebecca Voris Pahlk; loved nieces & nephews, and many cherished friends.

Mary Etta grew up in Salem, Indiana. She was very active in Church and school activities. She graduated from Indiana State Teachers College, and then earned her Masters Degree from Indiana University.

She lived and worked in Columbus, Indiana as a teacher, where she met the love of her life, “Charlie." They were married on August 8, 1965, for over 38 years, until his death in 2004. Together, they raised their children and opened Allied Collection Service, Inc. in 1969, which is still open today after 56 years of business.

She retired in Oldsmar, Florida, where she became very active in her community, teaching water aerobics, managing the library and years of other acts of service. She was an encourager to all and was known and loved by many!

Through Mary Etta’s love for Christ, she has left an impact on this world and the Kingdom of God to come.

Mary Etta is being cremated and transferred to Columbus, Indiana for a private burial service. There will be a Celebration of Life later this summer in Oldsmar, FL.
