

Mary Kathleen “Kathy” Schultz, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025 in Largo, Florida. Kathy was born on January 16, 1942 in Dixon, Illinois to the late Harold and Virginia “Molly” Kegel. She spent her formative years in Rockford, Illinois and later moved to Clearwater, Florida in 1977. Kathy worked as a Cosmetic Merchandiser for over 20 years with various large companies, including Cover Girl, Maybelline, and Loreal.
In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, traveling, and cooking. Kathy was well-known for her fabulous homemade casseroles and sweet treats. Along with her late husband, Paul, she was a member of the Tampa Bay Beach Bopper Dance Community. The two loved attending their many dance events and hosting crawfish parties. Kathy never met a stranger and had a big group of adoring friends. She was affectionately known as “NeeNee” by many, especially her grandchildren. Her beautiful smile and charming spirit will be remembered by all who knew her!
Kathy will be dearly missed by her daughter, Tracy Mitchell; son-in-law, Larry; grandchildren, Craig and Laken, all of Buford, GA; her daughter, Andrea Kiesel; son-in-law, Kurt; grandchildren, Katie and Izzie, all of Largo, FL; her sister, Jan Alms; nephews, Michael, Greg (Lida), and Scott (Anne); sister-in-law, Judi Kegel; nephews, Tony (Melissa), and Ed; as well as many other loved ones and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifton “Paul” Schultz; her parents, Harold and Virginia “Molly” Kegel; her brother, Mike Kegel; and her nephew, Kurt Kegel.
The family will have a private Celebration of Life this summer. Kathy’s ashes along with “Cajun Paul” will be scattered together, to continue their journey, into eternity.
