Margaret "Marge" M. DeMarco

Margaret M. DeMarco, 74, of Clearwater, Florida, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, compassion, and memories that will remain with all who knew and loved her.

Born on December 2, 1951, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Paul and Marie Colletti, Margaret was the eldest of five children. She was a true Philadelphian at heart, and she carried that unmistakable spirit with her throughout her life. She was strong-willed, fiercely loyal, quick-witted, and never one to shy away from speaking her mind. Margaret had a sharp tongue when the moment called for it, but it was usually accompanied by a smile, a perfectly timed remark, and a laugh that could make everyone around her laugh along with her.

Margaret loved to laugh and believed that laughter and love were among the best medicines life had to offer. She had a way of bringing humor into even the ordinary moments, and those who knew her best will remember not only the things she said, but the way she made people feel. Her favorite music could often be heard in the background of her life, especially the music of Jimmy Buffett and Andrea Bocelli, two very different artists that somehow perfectly suited the many sides of her.

Margaret was the proud mother of two children, Daniel (Alison) DeMarco and Andrèa (Ron) Coleman. Her family was at the center of her world, and she took great pride in watching her children grow and build families of their own. Her grandchildren, Andrew, Julia, DJ, and Amelia, were truly the light of her life.

She was immensely proud of each of them and took great joy in watching them become the people they were meant to be. She emphatically celebrated Andrew’s service in the United States Air Force to all who would listen, a distinction that filled her with immense pride. She was equally proud of Julia pursuing her dream through attending nursing school. She loved watching DJ compete in athletics and sharing in his latest accomplishments. She loved the passionate way Amelia would talk about space, her dreams, and her hopes of one day working for NASA after college. Margaret celebrated each of their dreams as though they were her own, and nothing made her prouder than seeing her grandchildren find and forge their own paths.

After graduating from St. Maria Goretti High School in 1969, Margaret pursued a career in nursing and devoted more than 40 years of her life to caring for others. She spent decades giving her time, compassion, and care to others, leaving an impact on countless lives along the way.

Margaret also had a deep sense of adventure and an unmistakable wanderlust. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed taking cruises, and returning frequently to destinations that had become favorites. Retirement gave her the freedom to embrace that passion even more, and she filled her days with adventures, experiences, and the simple joy of seeing what was just beyond the horizon. She carried that free spirit with her until her final days.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Marie Colletti, and her younger brother, Michael Colletti.

She is survived by her children, Daniel DeMarco (Alison) and Andrea Coleman (Ron); her siblings, Phillip Colletti, Paula Carnall, and Toni DiPietro; her grandchildren, Andrew, Julia, DJ, and Amelia; and her nieces and nephews who were blessed to share in her life and love.

Margaret gave her life to caring for others, but she never forgot to enjoy it. She found joy in her family, nursing, music, travel, laughter, and the promise of a new adventure. She taught those around her that love could be practical, outspoken, and sometimes accompanied by a sharp tongue, and that a good laugh could make almost anything easier to bear.

Memorial Services will be held on October 2, 2026 at 10:30am at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor, FL 34695.
