Lisa Michelle Hutchins

October 15, 1966 – July 6, 2026
Obituary of Lisa Michelle Hutchins
Lisa Michelle Hutchins passed away on July 6, 2026, at the age of 59. She was born on October 15, 1966, at Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, and was the fifth of six children.

As a child, Lisa’s family eventually moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she graduated from East High School. Music was one of the great passions of her life from an early age. She played the flute in high school, sang in choir, and rarely passed up an opportunity to sing. Whether performing or simply filling a room with music, singing was one of the ways she shared joy with everyone around her.

Lisa had a lifelong love for animals, which led her to work as a veterinary technician. After returning to St. Petersburg in 1984, she attended junior college and later built a life centered around the people she loved most.

In 1989, Lisa welcomed her first son, Andrew. She briefly married Chris Wilson in 1991, and together they welcomed their son, Tyler, in 1992. Above all else, Lisa’s greatest pride and joy was being a mother. Her sons were the center of her world, and she loved them with all her heart.

Throughout her life, Lisa embraced many different paths. She worked as a massage therapist before facing one of the greatest challenges of her life. In 2000, she was diagnosed with leukemia. After a difficult battle and a recurrence in 2001, she underwent a bone marrow transplant made possible through the incredible gift of her sister, Angie. Her determination, resilience, and strength carried her through those difficult years.

Following her recovery, Lisa returned to one of her greatest passions—music. She hosted karaoke at local venues, bringing laughter and confidence to countless people who stepped up to the microphone. Wanting to deepen her knowledge, she went back to school to study live sound reinforcement and eventually became a sound engineer, running audio for bands at local venues including CJ’s and Ferg’s. She found joy in helping musicians sound their best and remained deeply connected to the local music community.

Lisa was known for her loyalty, kindness, and adventurous spirit. She loved camping, spending time on the water, and never hesitated to get her hands dirty. Whether encountering wildlife on an outdoor adventure or lending a hand to someone in need, she approached life with courage and enthusiasm. Family meant everything to her, and she was a devoted mother, a loving sister, a loyal friend, and someone who always tried to make others feel welcome.

She is survived by her father, Elmer; her beloved boyfriend, Scott; her sons, Andrew Hutchins and Tyler Wilson; her siblings, Mark, Tom, Chia, Angie, and Dawn; and many extended family members and friends whose lives were enriched by knowing her.

Lisa’s voice, laughter, resilience, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always. Though she is no longer with us, the music she shared, the friendships she built, and the love she gave will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
