It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joseph "Joe" Mancuso on March 25, 2024. Born on July 16, 1938, Joseph was widely known and respected amongst family and friends for his gentle, accepting, and loving personality. He set a high standard for self-sacrifice, always putting the needs of others before his own, providing an exemplary testament to unconditional love.
Joe's life was a constant and absolute example of living one’s life unapologetically dedicated to illustrating love and kindness to family, friends and all others. Joseph is predeceased by just 30 short days of the love of his life, Carolann G. Mancuso. He loved her fiercely. Joe and Carolann spent just short of 61 years together, building a beautiful life. Joe and Carolann were not only partners but best friends, soulmates. Their love story began in their early twenties at a party in Illinois. Joseph met Carolann, at a time when he was freshly out of the Army. Joe had just spent 3 years serving our country in the U.S. Army. From the moment they met, their lives intertwined, and they began a life together in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Joseph moved with Carolann and their two daughters to Clearwater, Florida where they continued to build a beautiful life together. Joseph and Carolann remained in the Clearwater-Largo area until they departed from this earth to live pain free in heaven with God, Jesus, and his Angels.
Again, Joseph A. Mancuso is predeceased by his beloved wife, Carolann G. Mancuso, but Joe leaves behind a large, loving family who will forever cherish his memory. They include his daughters, Michele Mancuso-Belknap and Margaret A. Mancuso-Solien; sons-in-law Larry Solien and James Belknap; siblings Mary, Tony, & Ronnie Mancuso; grandchildren Joshua Belknap, Juan Miguel Belknap-Velasco, Alessa Bradley, Hannah Solien, and Amy & Patrick Belknap.
During his lifetime, Joseph was dedicated to serving. His servicial attitude began as a young boy working alongside his siblings on his father's farm in Kankakee, Illinois. Joe spent many years involved in volunteering in various ministries in the Catholic Church. Joe will forever be remembered for the role of servitude he took on within his family. Joseph had an uncanny ability to take all things he did, albeit at his work, within the church family, his own family or even having fun playing golf on a work league. During many, many years, Joseph had the best of times playing golf and going to Buccaneer games with his best friend Stan.
Joe was humble and one that never took pleasure in self-promoting, but one of his greatest work accomplishments included earning an MBA and embarking on a lifelong career in Finance. Joe had a very long and successful career working at Honeywall as an Aerospace Avionics Contract Manager. Joe is known to have worked and demonstrated the same dedication and patience at work as he showed to his loved ones. However, it was his lessons of kindness, acceptance, and helpfulness that truly defined him.
Joseph was truly a pillar of strength and resilience. His legacy is one of love for family and friends, the church and striving always to be the best version of oneself. He not only taught but also exemplified how to love 100% unconditionally, putting others' needs ahead of one's own. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his life and the profound influence he had on those around him.
“Dad, Papa, Joey” we will always remember that beautiful, warm smile, love pats and gentle hugs you shared with others. May you rest in peace and your spirit continue to guide and inspire us. We all have been so blessed to know you!
