Joan Margaret Wood

Joan Margaret Wood passed away on April 7, 2025 in Tampa Florida at the age of 81. Joan was born in London, England on July 9, 1943. She was an only child to her parents George and Harriett Hamilton. Joan was her father’s pride and joy. In 1959 she met Mervyn Wood whom she later married in 1962. In 1975, Joan and Mervyn, along with their two daughters Tracy and Debbie, moved from England to the United States where Joan was mostly a homemaker. She is survived by Mervyn her forever love and husband of 66 years, their two daughters Tracy Lang and Debbie Copparini, their spouses Douglas Lang and Edon Copparini, grandchildren Max Restrepo and his fiancé Shana Zajkowski, Nicholas Restrepo and his wife Rachel Restrepo, great grandchildren Londyn Restrepo, Savanna Restrepo and Sutton Restrepo. Joan loved her family unconditionally and lived for family get togethers, especially the holidays. She loved to travel, but mostly back to her homeland, England. She was a true Brit and loved “Proper Football”. She was a devoted fan of Manchester United “Man U Forever”. Joan loved with every piece of her heart. She will be forever missed, but never forgotten. At her request, Joan will soon return to England to her final resting place.
