Peggy met John Huegel while working at TWA in Kansas City, MO. They raised their children in Kansas City, Fairfield, CT and St Petersburg, FL. They initially retired to St. Petersburg, FL in 1984 where they both continued to work full time for many more years. They re-retired to Palm Harbor, FL where they enjoyed their time with many friends in the Southwind neighborhood.
Peggy was a life-long devout Catholic and devoted much of her time to praying for her family. She was a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Lourdes and attended daily mass for many, many years.
She had a sharp wit and a keen sense of humor but was not good at telling jokes as she could not get to the punch line without laughing herself to tears. She kept her sense of humor right up to the very end which was such a blessing to her family.
She leaves this world better for her having been a part of it and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Peg will be interred at Arlington Cemetery with her husband John at a future date when her family can gather to say their final goodbyes.
Donations may be made in Peggy’s name (Evelyn Huegel) to Suncoast Hospice (Empath) who provided kind and gentle care for her at the end. Thank you to all those who made her last days comfortable; taking care not only of her but of her grieving family.
