Eileen Louise Hotchkiss

Eileen Louise Hotchkiss (née Clark), aged 80, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, in Clearwater, Florida. She was born on March 4, 1946, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to the late John S. Clark and Bernardine (Gravel) Clark.

Eileen graduated from Cathedral High School and attended Bay Path College. A lifelong learner, she became a self-taught computer enthusiast and was known for her exceptional attention to detail, reflected in her beautiful sewing projects and impeccable handwriting. She built a successful career in the Springfield school system and later served for many years as Executive Assistant to the President of Springfield College.

She lived a life rooted in love, dedication, and quiet excellence. Eileen found joy in gardening and travel, taking pride in her yard in Glastonbury, Connecticut, and her ability to grow nearly anything. She cherished time on Cape Cod with family and friends and enjoyed motorcycle adventures with Jerry to Sturgis, the Badlands, and throughout Florida.

Eileen was admired for her warmth, kindness, and genuine compassion. She had a gift for making others feel valued and loved, even in the briefest encounters. She will be remembered for the quiet strength she showed throughout her life and the steady love she gave to her family and friends.

Eileen is survived by her devoted husband, Gerald “Jerry” Hotchkiss; her daughter, Jennifer Miller (Darren); her son, John Fitzgerald (Cheryl); her stepson, Steven Hotchkiss (Danna); and her stepdaughter, Kristin Hotchkiss. She also leaves seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, her sister, Jennifer Fallon; her brothers, David Clark (Christine), Steven Clark (AnnMarie), and Jeffrey Clark (Nancy); her former sister-in-law, Susan Clark; and her beloved niece, Tracee Dearington, who was like a daughter to her.

She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and one nephew.

Eileen’s legacy of kindness and devotion will live on in all who knew her. Her memory will be deeply cherished.
