

Edward Vickers Wilson, 68, died on February 6, 2024 at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Ed was born in Miami, FL and moved to Charlotte, NC before the family relocated to the Atlanta, GA area during his sophomore year of high school. While at Peachtree High School, Ed was on the swim and basketball teams, as well as a starting linebacker for the football team his senior year. After graduating from high school in 1973, he attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC on a football scholarship, leaving in 1975 shortly after the death of his father.
Ed worked at Meisel Photochrome, COIN Financial Services, and Cingular Wireless/BellSouth/AT&T, retiring in 2017 after a successful career managing one of AT&T Wireless’s IT shops.
An athlete in his youth, he was also an avid hunter and fisherman. After relocating to Clearwater in 2019, he took up cycling and loved riding 8-10 miles every morning.
Ed is survived by his wife, Mary Ramsay; his sister, Lynne (Terry) Farkas; nephew, Hayden Farkas; nieces, Trinity Farkas and Georgia Farkas; and numerous friends that he loved as family.
Ed was known for his kindness, big heart, and generous spirit, and he will be sorely missed by all who loved him. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
