Diane Irene Moody

Diane was born in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up there with her surviving brothers, Al and Ken. In 1957, she moved to Gulfport, Florida, and graduated from Boca Ciega High School in 1959. She then attended St. Petersburg Junior College, where she obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Nursing in 1962.

Diane started her career as a Registered Nurse at Mound Park Hospital, now known as Bayfront, where she received a promotion to acting Head Nurse within a few years. In 1965, she married her first husband, who later predeceased her, and they both moved away from the area. She then raised her 3 surviving children, Catherine, Susan, and Phil.

In 1981, she returned to the Tampa Bay area, and, as a caregiver, she was committed to raising her family. She returned to working as a Registered Nurse at a variety of hospitals, as well as a private duty nurse.

In 1987, she found love again and married her surviving husband, Cyril “Buddy” Moody. Together, they enjoyed 39 years of marriage, eventually settling down in St. Petersburg, Florida. In 1993, she welcomed her first grandchild, Marie, who brought her much happiness.

Throughout her life, she always enjoyed helping others, both in her personal life and with her patients. Diane enjoyed family, arts and crafts, cooking, camping, and gardening.
