Debra C Ward

Debra C. Ward (née Cassini) died on February 2nd, 2022 in Pinellas Park, Florida at the age of 66. Debbie was born in New York, NY on February 18th, 1955. She graduated from Queens College in 1977 and worked for the New York Board of Education and as a kindergarten teacher. She participated in humanitarian mission trips to Mexico and Uganda. She lived all aspects of her life in service to others, and her heart and home were open to any and all that needed it.

Debbie was an avid traveler and cruised across the globe, reaching every continent except for Antarctica (and then only due to the CoVID-19 pandemic). She loved all manner of crafts, and will be remembered by many for her crocheted baby blankets.

Debbie is survived by her daughters Kyla and Kebra Ward, granddaughter Sonja Ward-Matz, sister Marie Cassini, her beloved nieces and nephews, and innumerable friends.

Debbie donated blood regularly and was a member of the Gallon Club many times over. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Red Cross or OneBlood. Those that are able to are encouraged to donate blood.
