Danny "Dan" Edward Hicks

He was born on January 14, 1948, in Banner Virginia, to Roy Edward Hicks and Arretta Jessie Trout. He was the only son in his family, growing up with five sisters.

Dan graduated from Sandusky High School in Sandusky, Ohio, with the Class of 1966. During his school years, he was involved in wrestling and student council. He later attended college and pursued his career with Columbia Gas Company, where he proudly worked for more than 30 years.

Dan was also a Life Member of the Sandusky Jaycees, reflecting his many years of dedication and service to the organization and his community.

Dan was a kindhearted man who loved helping his neighbors, friends, and the people around him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a smile that could brighten a room. He loved karaoke, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying parties by the pool. He especially cherished the time he spent with his family in the Philippines.

Dan was a devoted husband and was married to his beloved wife, Mirasol, for 13 wonderful years. Together, they shared many beautiful memories, laughter, love, and adventures. To Mirasol, Dan was not only her husband, but also her best friend, her rock, and her safe place. Their love and the life they built together will always remain in her heart.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Mirasol Hicks; his children, Tamara Ann Hicks and Brian Daniel Hicks; his grandchildren; and his sisters, Freida Stierhoff of Huron, Sharon Dubois of Ohio, and Teresa Hansen of Florida.

Dan’s wife is deeply grateful for the love, friendship, prayers, and support that surrounded him throughout his life, especially during his final days at home.

Following his cremation, Dan’s ashes will be brought to the Philippines at a later date, where he will be laid to rest surrounded by family and loved ones.

A Celebration of Life for Dan will be held in Florida, the place he called home with his beloved wife. The date, time, and location will be announced at a later time.

Dan may no longer be here with us physically, but his love, laughter, kindness, and memories will live on forever in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.

Rest peacefully, my honey. You will forever be loved, forever missed, and forever in my heart.
