Charles "Chuck" Evans, 87, passed peacefully on Sunday March 7, 2021 in Pinellas Park, Florida. Preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, June Evans, sister, Lois Evans and brother, Robert Evans. Born in Painesville, Ohio, where he raised his family, he was the son of the late Charles and Hazel (Rennick) Evans.
Working hard his entire life, from his youth as a pinsetter at Marval Bowling Alley, then as an Ironworker at Diamond Alkali in Fairport, he went on to become one of the original owners of Convenient Food Mart Chains in Northeast Ohio. An avid runner and bowler his whole life, he moved to Dunedin, Florida in 1983 where he loved the climate of the Sunshine State.
He is survived by his three sons, Chuck (Jan), Keith (Audra), Jim (Pam) Evans and grandchildren, Ian, Dylan, Isaac, India, Amanda, and Abigail as well as many nieces and nephews. He always believed in second chances and forgiveness. The brothers will have a private service.
