Bernadette "Bernie" Molly Hughes

Bernadette "Bernie" Hughes, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away June 14, 2022 at the age of 89 in Clearwater, FL. She lived in Largo, FL and formerly resided in West Hartford and South Lyme, CT.

She was born to Frank and Lillian Daigle in Madawaska, Maine. Bernie was predeceased by her parents and loving husband, Russell P. Hughes.

She is survived by her devoted and loving daughters, Lynn Mack (Anthony Depass) and Susan Kandetzke (Steven); three caring grandchildren Lisa Bennett (David), Sarah Kandetzke and Steven Kandetzke, Jr; two great grandsons David Bennett, Jr and Evan Bennett. Also survived by her four siblings Loretta Gillanders, Shirley Morrissey, Frances Halish (Anthony) and Peter Daigle (Elizabeth) as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends that were like family.

Bernie was a kind and gentle person, who loved spending time with her family and friends. Her smile and quiet, yet spunky, nature will be missed by all.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10am on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at St Catherine's of Siena Catholic Church, 1955 S. Belcher Rd, Clearwater, FL 33764. There will be a Funeral Mass on July 6, 2022 at 10am at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 467 Quaker Lane S., West Hartford, CT.
