Anne was born on July 29, 1925, in Kearny, NJ, to parents Matthew and Clara Arkins (née Ward). She came from a large Irish family known for their flaming red hair and was the youngest of seven children, with one brother and five older sisters.
When Anne was just eight years old, her mother passed away; Anne and her two youngest sisters were subsequently raised by nuns in a girls' school. Throughout her life, Anne remained a devoted Catholic.
Anne graduated from Caldwell College with a bachelor’s degree in English. Soon after, she married the love of her life, Jack Wynne. Together they traveled the world and built a loving family. One of their children, Danny, was born while they were living in Africa. While raising five children—four boys and one girl—Anne dedicated herself to serving others. She worked full-time as an elementary school teacher and later as a social worker for the State of Florida.
Anne was a loving and caring mother, friend, and confidante. She was known for her warm smile, thoughtful compliments, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. She brought joy to those around her and was truly a pleasure to know. She will be deeply missed.
Anne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Wynne; her sons, Jack Wynne, Danny Wynne, Joe Wynne, and Terry Wynne; her siblings, James (Janet) Arkins, Rita (Johnny) Gough, Clare (Gil) Breuninger, Margaret (Victor) DeNigris, and Mary (Bill) Dulany, and her lifelong friend, Ruth Burnette.
She is survived by her daughter, Marybeth Deer (Bob); her grandchildren, Stacey Beck, Dan Wynne, Jack Wynne, Joe Wynne, Michelle Dessler, Artie Kaufman, and Matthew Kaufman; her adopted grandchildren, Denise Thorn, Debbie Wynne, Vance Bond, and Damon Laubscher; as well as many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Dunedin Golf Club House, located at 1050 Palm Blvd., Dunedin.
