Alice Marie (Tyrpak) Rossi

Alice Marie Rossi, 71, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family, on August 22, 2026, in Clearwater, Florida. She was born on October 11, 1954, in Lackawanna, New York.

Alice loved life and cherished the people around her. Her greatest joys were her beloved husband, Dominic, and her three sons, Daniel, James, and David. Beautiful inside and out, Alice was known for her generosity, selflessness, warm smile, and unwaveringly positive spirit. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued, supported, and hopeful.

Education was one of Alice’s greatest passions. Determined to provide her sons with every opportunity for success, she returned to school and earned her master’s degree in teaching. She went on to serve as program director at The Gow School in South Wales, New York, a school specializing in dyslexia education. She also worked as a learning and dyslexia specialist in schools throughout Western New York and established her own practice, Rossi Educational Services. Through her dedication, patience, and expertise, Alice helped countless students overcome challenges and reach their potential. Many men and women went on to lead successful and fulfilling professional lives because Alice believed in them and never gave up on them.

After Alice and Dominic moved to Florida, her commitment to helping children continued. She worked at Jefferson High School and D.W. Waters, where she excelled at helping children learn to read while encouraging them to take pride in their accomplishments. Her students loved Alice for her dedication, compassion, encouragement, and wonderful sense of humor. For Alice, teaching was more than a career—it was a calling and a way to make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Alice was also always among the first to lend a helping hand to those in need. She and Dominic volunteered at shelters before and after the COVID-19 pandemic and continued helping their community before and after catastrophic storms in Florida. Whether someone needed encouragement, assistance, or simply a smile, Alice was there.

Alice shared a special bond with her sister, Ann Marie. The two enjoyed many years of vacations together, spending time in Pompano Beach as well as returning home to Western New York. Family was deeply important to Alice, and she treasured the memories made with those she loved.

Throughout years of ongoing health challenges, Alice continued to push forward with remarkable strength and a positive attitude. She faced life’s difficulties with courage, grace, and the same optimism she shared with everyone around her. Alice was deeply loved by her family, friends, students, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, laughter, compassion, and enduring spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched. She will be profoundly missed and never forgotten.

Alice is survived by her loving husband, Dominic John Rossi; sons, Daniel John Rossi, James John Rossi, and David John Rossi (Stephanie); grandchildren, Anthony J. Rossi, Dominic J. Rossi, Jonathan J. Rossi, Levi J. Rossi, Valerie Rossi, Hazel Rossi, Alex, and Laura; siblings, John Tyrpak (Antonetta), Ronald Tyrpak (Jacqueline), Ann Marie Tyrpak (Frank Chini), Stanley Tyrpak, Charles Tyrpak, and Joseph Tyrpak (Jennifer), brothers-in-law, Ronald Rose (Jackie), Peter Rose, Paul Rose (Randal Vallee), and extended in-laws, Collen Rose and Bob Fleicsher, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley John and Margaret Nancy Tyrpak (née Milioto); granddaughter, Skyler Rice; in-laws, Frank and Geraldine Rose (née Gold); brother-in-law, John Rose, and sister-in-law, Trina Fleicsher.
