Verdell "Del" Henry Schroeder

Verdell Henry Schroeder (Del), age 85, passed away peacefully at his home on May 5, 2026. He was a beloved husband for 62 years to his wife, Doris, and father to two surviving daughters, Carmen Anderson and Alison Schmitz. Verdell worked as an Industrial Engineer at Fischbein, LLC for 45 years. He and Doris made a difficult decision to leave their family and relatives to relocate from Minneapolis, MN to Statesville, NC in 1994 to continue his devotion to the company and his career.

Verdell was as devoted to his family as he was to his job, building 3 homes during his lifetime, all the while traveling internationally as they grew up.

Along with his wife and daughters, Verdell is survived by his sister, Yvonne Roth, 2 sons-in-law, Nick Anderson and Dan Schmitz, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. His parents, several siblings, and his daughter, Pamela Schroeder McCann, preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held in Minnesota at St. Joseph’s of the Lakes Catholic Church, on Friday, June 12th, 2026. Visitation for one hour beginning at 10am, with funeral service, interment, and luncheon following. The funeral service will be livestreamed. Memorials are preferred to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625

Never one who could remain idle, we are sure that Verdell remains busy in heaven directing the angels in their everyday work and play!
