Tom was born in Detroit, MI on October 19, 1943 to Querrino and Josephine Spada. After graduating from Allen Park High School in 1961, Tom served his country with honor and integrity in the United States Navy before returning home to complete his studies at Wayne State University.
Tom worked for many years at Detroit Diesel (a division of General Motors) prior to launching a successful legal recruiting firm, and ultimately focused on numerous entrepreneurial endeavors.
Tom’s warm smile and signature laugh were hallmarks that brightened every room he entered. Tom’s ability to connect with people was innate, as he never met a person he couldn’t have a conversation with.
Tom is survived by Mary, his loving wife of 55 years; his children, Julie (Shaheen) Moghadam and Thomas (Melinda) Spada, Jr.; his grandchildren, Alexa, Sophie, Teya, Madeleine, and Vincent; and his brother, Michael.
Tom’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will continue to inspire all who knew him. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held this summer on a date to be announced.
The family requests any donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Tunnel To Towers Foundation
